Air Force Appreciation Day!

This past Saturday was the Air Force Appreciation Day. As you can see mom and bug rode the float. Josh was feeling festive and crazy in his wig. The boys walked along side of the float and handed out free stuff. There was plenty of activities, such as paint ball shooting and wall climbing. Of course all three had to try their hands at both. It was a fun day. I took a ton of pic's. It was nice to see so many people turn out to show their appreciation for the military.

Aunt Mary's 100th birthday!!

This post is a little out of sequence. As I was reviewing pic's from AZ, I saw these and thought I should share. For Father's Day Chuck and I helped towards Dave's flight to NY. It was a surprise to most the family that he would be there for Aunt Mary's birthday. I am sure grandma was delightfully surprised to see her son at her sister's 100th birthday party. Grandma is the baby of the family and Aunt Mary is the eldest.

In the above pic left to right, front to back, 1st Row Aunt Mary, Dave's eldest sister Carol, 2nd row Dave's youngest sister Pat, and Dave's Mother Alice, 3rd row Dave's youngest brother Mark, Dave, Dave eldest brother Don, and Dave's next youngest brother Tom.

Dave & Sharon's vacation!

Dave and Sharon went on vacation to Phoenix, Arizona. Dave hadn't seen his cousin Leslie in approx. 15 years. They enjoyed their time there with them. They took in some sights and even a baseball game. They got plenty of R & R, and still had time to reminisce. They met more family. In the pic above left to right, Leslie, and his wife Robin, their daughter Nicole holding baby Zaylee, and her husband Jason. Not pictured is Leslie's son Junior.

Here is a pic of Dave and Sharon outside of Chase Baseball Stadium. They are waiting for the Padres and the Arizona Diamonds Backs to begin playing.

Robin and Leslie took Dave and Sharon to Lake Pleasant. Here is a pic of Dave & Sharon in front of some cactus. Dave and Sharon hunted around for some nice cactus to take a pic with. Most of them had holes in them. Apparently the woodpeckers like the cactus to make their nests in.

Kayleigh's Birthday Party!

Amy this posts for you....lol! Amy was giving me all sorts of what for's for not posting to our blog lately. However she was correct. It was well past time. The children and I went to Salt Lake for Kayleigh's birthday bowling party. We had a lot of fun and met some wonderful people. It was a short trip but a good one. Will be going back for the concert in a month. Hopefully she is ready to put up with me again. lol! P.S. Amy check out the little stinker in the middle of the front table. GOTCHA YA!!

Shoshone Falls

We went to visit friends in Salt Lake. On the way we took a slight detour. We stopped to see Shoshone Falls. It was nice. I will say I still think Niagra Falls is much nicer. But thats just my opinion.

Darren's Birthday Party

Darren had his birthday party this year. We had cake, ice cream, and a bunch of neighborhood kids. They all just hung out and had fun!

Hello From Guam

Well here I am in Guam and just wanted to let everyone know that I am doing fine considering my soul is back in Idaho. So far we don't have much to complain about considering that some of my servicemen/women are having to spend hell in Afghanistan and Iraq. I have to tell you that I actually lay awake and wish that those brave young men and women could just be here in this paradise with us instead of the hell they are living in each day. This weekend we spent a day at the beach enjoying all that God has given us to include the splendor of watching the sunset over the ocean.  Well enough of reflection time and on to something else. This is a BIG deployment for me and the family considering we have not been separated for this amount of time since 1999; yes I said 1999. Thats right ten years ago was the last time we had to withstand the agony of being separated; I miss them all with every ounce of energy I have and can not wait to go home. Well I will try to keep everyone updated as to how I am doing and any neat or inspiring pictures I can.
